How To Make Your Own Web Page
Nowadays, there are really 2 ways to make your own web page.  You can do it the easy way and use a free web page provider, or you can make your own web page from scratch using html.  If you just want to make a fun page quickly or you are just starting out, you might want to try a free web page provider first.  Once you have your feet wet, you can try making fancier pages with html - its not that hard once you learn the code.
There are tons of free web page providers out there, I have listed some of the most popular ones below.  I prefer geocities, and most other people also seem to think it is the easiest to use, plus they provide awesome support for their members.  If you decided to use geocities, for example, you would go to www.geocities.com and sign up to become a member.  Most sites make you sign up for their free email (you don't have to use it, I have never used mine).  You might need your parents help for this part to make sure you give the right information.  In many sites, like geocities, you can use their pagebuilder to build your pages, or you can use html.  Pagebuilder is very easy to use, you don't have to know any html, plus you can upload your own graphics and backgrounds to use on your pages.  To download a graphic, right click on it with your mouse, choose save as, and save it wherever you want to on your computer.  Then when you get into pagebuilder you can upload it to your page(you'll figure out how to upload it once you get into pagebuilder).  Please do not just take other people's graphics and put it on your page without acknowledging who made it.  Most graphic sites give you a logo that you can save the same way as a regular graphic and put on the bottom of your web page.  This is the right and professional thing to do.  Look below for other free web page builders you can try.  Just make sure you have your parent's permission and help to start out with.  Choosing the right web page provider is very important.  Some of them don't provide you with very much you can work with.  You want the one that gives you the most freedom to do what you want on your page.

Well, the next part would be for me to explain to you how to build a web page using html.  I am not going to do that, though, for 3 reasons:  I am still learning it myself, it would take another web site in itself to explain it all, and someone else has already done a web site on just that!  Her name is Lissa and she is just 13 years old.  She started making web sites on her own when she was very young, and she has a very large site that explains how to make web pages which has won several awards.  She even has several commercial sites: that just shows what kids can do when they put their minds to it!  I like her site because it explains it all in a very easy to understand way.  She starts out with the basics, and then goes on to explain more details and fun stuff:  anything you ever wanted to know about making a web page!
